Dr. Jontu Solomon has settled in and is enjoying being the family doctor at Phoebe Primary Care of Buena Vista. He is certainly no stranger to the area.
Dr. Solomon grew up in the small town of Ellaville. He graduated from Schley County High School in 2008 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Georgia Southwestern University. He went on to attend Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta and became a doctor.
Now he has come full circle and practices at Phoebe Primary Care of Buena Vista.
“I always wanted to practice where I grew up”, Solomon said. “My philosophy is to treat all patients as if they were one of my family.” While at Georgia Southwestern University, Solomon participated in the Southwest Georgia Area Education Center Pathway to Medical School Program which assists students in Pre-Med in their medical education journey. Summer programs allowed the students, among other things, to work alongside physicians.
At Morehouse School of Medicine, Solomon participated in the GE Foundation and the National Medical Fellowship Primary Care Leadership Program in Nashville. He trained at the Medical College of Georgia Family Medicine Residency Program and remains active in the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Solomon is the son of Melinda Solomon Haynes and Freddie Harris. He and his wife Shariah McKenzie live in Ellaville and his hobbies are spending time with his family, cooking, and traveling. He welcomes new patients to the Buena Vista facility to fulfill his goal of providing quality care to patients in Southwest Georgia.
