Congratulations to Schley County High School senior William Blackwell, who has received an Award of Excellence from the Georgia Department of Education. William, the son of Vivian and William Blackwell, of Americus, will be honored by State School Superintendent Richard Woods Tuesday, April 20, 2021 during a virtual ceremony.
William was nominated by SCHS teachers because of his outstanding academic performance, his integrity and work ethic in the classroom and on the football field, and his infectious positive attitude. He is a model student, citizen, and athlete at Schley County High School. He will graduate May 22nd, 2021. Although he has not selected which college he will attend, William has been accepted to the University of Alabama, Georgia Southern University, University of Memphis, University of Tennessee-Martin, and Austin Peay. He will complete an internship in engineering this summer and plans to major in mechanical engineering in college.
