Dear Parent/Guardian,
We are excited to offer your child the opportunity of being Dual Enrolled during summer and/or fall semester of the 2021-2022 school year. A large number of Schley County students are already taking advantage of the Dual Enrollment, either through Georgia Southwestern State University or South Georgia Technical College. Dual Enrollment registration day is for the current 9th-11th grade students.
Dual enrollment requirements for GSW and SGTC have changed due to Covid-19. GSW testing requirements (SAT and/or ACT) are being waived for 11th and 12th grade students; any 10th grade student who enrolls with GSW will have to meet the Zell Miller Scholarship testing requirements. Current 11th and 12th grade students are required to have a 3.0 HOPE GPA and have already taken and passed two English and two math classes. SGTC testing requirements are being waived for 10th-12th grade students; students are required to have a 2.6 HOPE GPA. Tenth graders are eligible to take only CTAE classes at SGTC.
Tuesday, March 9, 2021, we will be hosting Dual Enrollment registration day for GSW at Schley County High School. A representative from GSW will be present to ensure all documentation and information is collected from each student to ensure enrollment for the summer and/or fall semester of the 2021-2022 school year. Students are required to select an available time and sign up in the front office by Friday, March 5, 2021. Students wishing to participate in the Dual Enrollment program must have met all the registration requirements prior to Dual Enrollment registration day, March 9, 2021.
