To be tested, individuals must be Georgia residents. Symptoms of COVID-19 include:

Cough Muscle Pain Sore Throat
Shortness of Breath Repeated Shaking with Chills New Loss of Taste or Smell
Elderly individuals and those with chronic medical conditions have increased risk for COVID-19.
It’s important for individuals who have mild symptoms to self-quarantine for 14 days. If symptoms worsen, call your health care provider for evaluation. Those without a healthcare provider or without insurance, should contact their local health department for guidance.

Specimen collection is heldMonday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm behind the Columbus Health Department at 2100 Comer Avenue. Specimen collection will be Saturday, May 16th, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, at the Columbus Civic Center, 400 4th Avenue. (Please enter on Lumpkin Blvd.) Collection on Sunday, May 17th, will be from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm in Cordele, at the J.R. Dowdy Building, 1129 N 5th Street. There is no charge for testing at any location.

Be sure to call before going to a doctor’s office, emergency room, or urgent care center and tell them about your symptoms.
We urge all individuals to practice these prevention measures:
- Stay home. Don’t leave home unnecessarily. When you go out, practice social distancing: six feet between you and the person closest to you. Wear a mask or cloth face covering.
- Wash your hands often with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Stay home when you are sick.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
