Schley County Elementary School is tremendously grateful for the items donated by Mr. Reagan Barksdale and the hard working people at Tape Specialists of Georgia. Mr. Barksdale and TSG donated face shields for our faculty to wear and also the material pictured that will serve as dividers in our computer labs. These donations will go a long way in helping us promote wellness here at SCE! Thank you to Mr. Barksdale and to the good folks at TSG!
Kindergarten Open House will be held on Thursday July 30th during the following hours:

1:30 P.M. - 3:00 P.M. = Open house for Mrs. Brooks’ class
Our goal is to familiarize you and your child to our school and your child’s upcoming school routine. We ask that the following guidelines are met.
1. Only two parents and the student may attend open house. Please do not bring other siblings or other adults.
2. Parents must wear masks at all times while in the building, and we encourage students to wear masks.
3. Individual temperatures will be taken before entry into the building. If someone has a fever, they will not be allowed in the building.
4. At the conclusion of the meeting, we ask that you return to your vehicle so that we can bring in the next group of parents and students.
Parents,
You will need your child's Georgia Testing ID (GTID) number to complete the application for the Georgia Division of Family & Children Services to provide food benefits of families with children who receive free and reduced lunch.
This GTID number is available in Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Once you login select More and then GTID.
In the top right you are able to select each child.
Parents,
At the beginning of each school year, all returning parents should verify their address information, demographics, and family information online in Infinite Campus. This will be much easier than completing the forms that we have used in previous years. It is extremely important that we have your current information, especially in the case of an emergency.
Please go to Infinite Campus Parent Portal, log in, then click "More" in the left column. The three areas that we need you to verify are:
1) Address Information
2) Demographics
3) Family Information
If you do not have a parent portal account then you will need the last 4 digits of any of your school-age children's SSN and also his/her birthdate to lookup the unique activation key. Please follow the link https://5il.co/9xen to find directions for creating your Infinite Campus parent account.
Below are the approximate loading and unloading times by bus for the 20-21 school year. The following are guidelines that must be met if your child plans to ride the school bus.
1. Students will have access to hand sanitizer as they enter and exit the bus.
2. Masks will be worn on the school bus.
3. To minimize contact, students will be assigned seats. (We will seat families and like stops together).
4. Students will not have bus changes for alternate buses.
5. Students can be dropped off at a different address if it is on their assigned bus.

We need better, faster Internet for the education of our children in rural Georgia!
Mrs. Jennifer Smith applied for and won a STEAM grant for $2,000. This grant is sponsored by Flint Energies. There were 27 applicants for the grant, and there were only two grants awarded. This grant will be used to purchase a green screen and a stop motion lab that will enhance student engagement.
