SCE first graders had an exciting first week of school. Students read the book "Do Unto Otters" and learned about the habitats of the two main characters, Mr. Rabbit and Otter. Through integrating Science and Social Studies into the Reading lesson, students were able to make connections about friend traits as well as animal habitats. Students researched how to take care of a pet rabbit and how wild rabbits survive. They also compared the habitats of rabbits and otters by creating a diorama of their choice. Students were surprised on Friday with a visit from Mrs. Waller's pet rabbits!
