On March 17, 2022, a team of fifth grade students from Schley County Elementary traveled to compete in the Georgia Movie Academy competition. The team from Schley County Elementary brought home the top prize, Best Picture in their division for their movie, Katie's Big Dream. The competition was hosted by Chattahoochee-Flint RESA and was held at the Georgia Southwestern State University Storm Dome. The competition featured teams from 3rd-5th grades in the RESA service area.
The team members are Bella Cox, Emy Mac Hobbs, Jennifer Menard, Taliyah Peaster, Marli Rollefson, and Neal Smith.
The winning team from SCE will now advance to the State GMA competition in May.
