Students in Mrs. Rockenhaus and Ms. Hall’s Kindergarten classroom had a fun week of learning about dental health. Ms. Womack our student teacher taught lessons all week and ended the week with a fun experiment. Students made predictions of what would happen if you soaked an egg in coke, milk, and water. After making predictions, students placed an egg in a clear cup of milk and a clear cup of coke. After a day, students were able to check their predictions and see how the different liquids effected the white egg. They were very shocked and thought the cup with coke was so gross. They used a toothbrush and toothpaste to brush away the stains and discussed the importance of brushing. Ms. Womack incorporates hands on learning in her teaching style and meets the interests of our students. She has been a great asset to our classroom this semester.
