Students in Mrs. Howell’s third grade class recently read a story titled “The Name Jar.” During the week, the students carefully examined the main character of the story. Students then practiced describing the main character using her character traits, motivations, and feelings. Mrs. Howell’s class also discussed how the main character developed throughout the story. At the end of the week, students completed a writing activity in response to the story then decorated their own name jar to share their individual interests with their classmates.
