students test weather tool

Students in Mrs. Allen's fourth grade class are learning about weather tools that meteorologists use to make weather forecasts. Today students worked in small groups to create anemometers. During this unit, they have learned that anemometers measure wind speed.  The students were so excited to test the anemometers in front of the air conditioner unit and see that they actually worked!

Fourth grade students in Mrs. Hollomon’s homeroom have also been learning about weather tools. Today they made their own wind vane. During this unit, students have learned that meteorologists use wind vanes to tell the direction the wind is blowing. They are excited to test their wind vanes out at home!
