Mrs. Hollomon's 4th grade classes enjoyed reading Lewis and Clark and Me. It is a story about the explorations of Lewis and Clark told from the point of view of a Newfoundland dog named Seaman. The students did research on the breed and wrote their facts on a Newfoundland dog cut-out.
They also have recently learned about some of the physical and manmade features of the United States. As a review activity, Mrs. Hollomon's classes used craft supplies to make a map key and label eight physical features. The features they studied are the Gulf of Mexico, Continental Divide, Great Plains, 5 Great Lakes, St. Lawrence River, Death Valley, Atlantic Coastal Plain, and Mississippi River. The students had a great time completing their maps.
