Rachel Calhoun

Rachel Calhoun is entering her 14th year in education.  She began her career at Worth County Middle School in Sylvester, GA, in 2006.  During her 14 year career, Mrs. Calhoun has taught U.S. History, Honors/AP U.S. History, World History, and Honors American Government.  Her certifications also include Gifted and AP.  She was honored as Teacher of the Year at Tiftarea Academy in 2009 and Worth County High School in 2018. Her U.S. History test scores helped Worth County High School to consistently be ranked high with Southwest Georgia schools.

Her teaching inspiration stems from the values she received from her teachers through her school years.  Mrs. Calhoun enjoys teaching social studies because when a teacher empowers students with knowledge from our past, it allows them to grow as respectful citizens.  Mrs. Calhoun is married to Harley Calhoun and they have two children, Charlie and Carolyn.
